PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of heightening the fuel utilization rate of a fuel cell without using a power consuming apparatus such as a booster pump.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 1 comprises: a fuel cell 2; a hydrogen supply line L2 for supplying hydrogen and a cathode gas supply line L1 for supplying cathode gas to the fuel cell 2; an anode off gas discharge line L5 for discharging anode off-gas and a cathode off-gas discharge line L4 for discharging cathode off-gas from the fuel cell 2; and a pressure reducing device 10 disposed in the anode off-gas discharge line L5, which generates condensed water by cooling the anode off-gas discharged from the fuel cell 2 and also stores the condensed water in part of the anode off-gas discharge line L5 to create a water head difference in the anode off-gas discharge line L5, thereby reducing anode off-gas discharge pressure in the anode off-gas discharge line L5 relative to hydrogen supply pressure in the hydrogen supply line L2. |
