A method for signaling weighted prediction processing in advanced coding schemes is disclosed. Signaling is removed from the picture parameter set hierarchical level and instead inserted in the slice header, and a single flag is used to signal weighted prediction for both P slices and B slices, thereby simplifying operation and increasing bit efficiency. |
