PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately calculating information related to a peripheral length of an intermediate transfer belt even when flapping of the intermediate transfer belt occurs.SOLUTION: When information related to a peripheral length of an intermediate transfer belt is acquired, or information related to a peripheral length of an intermediate transfer belt is acquired over a plurality of times by using a plurality of photosensors, an integrated value I(X) is calculated by integrating an absolute value of a difference between waveform data V(i) at first round and waveform data V(i+X) at second round when a shift amount is determined as "X" by the following formula. A shift amount X to maximize sharpness is determined, and information related to a peripheral length is then determined on the basis of the determined shift amount X. |
