PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of processing drips of wet umbrella and shortcomings of an umbrella in prior art, while entering a building, public transportation, a vehicle, etc., with a wet umbrella closed, it will wet people and things around as well as the floor, for which existing prior art for solving wet umbrella problems has shortcomings such that, in an umbrella with a wet umbrella cloth folded inside by folding main ribs in two, the wet umbrella cloth between the main ribs takes a lot of space causing handling and carrying unpractical and that, in an umbrella with a wet umbrella cloth folded inside without folding main ribs, the umbrella cloth and the main ribs tend to be damaged as the umbrella is closed, with the stretched wet umbrella cloth and the main ribs imparted with an unreasonable force thereto.SOLUTION: Through the vertical movement of the tips of the main rib tip ends which are linked with the turning of stretcher ends, an umbrella is folded with the wet surface inside without imparting an unreasonable force to the wet umbrella cloth and the main ribs. Then, rainwater dripping from the tips of the main ribs is received by an open cap and collected inside the ferrule. The rainwater collected inside the ferrule is disposed of by the opening action of the umbrella, with the ferrule up. |
