Disclosed is a method for updating applications, a user equipment (UE) chooses the network which connects the application server after receiving an application updating instruction, acquires the version information of the present application and sends to the application server; the UE requests to download the present application when receiving the new version information of the present application from the application server, and updates the present application to the new version after the download completed; thereof. when the network is a wireless cellular network, confirming whether the present network traffic exceeds the predetermined traffic threshold, and if yes, stopping downloading the present application. Simultaneously, disclosed are a device, system and UE for updating applications. The present invention enables to update applications automatically and save cost effectively. |
