The invention relates to a closed structure for a discharge tube (1), which has a cap (2) provided with the respective electrical connection (5) on both ends. The tube (1) is accommodated in a transparent or translucent pipe (8) as a cover. A spring element (7), which is resilient in the radial direction, is installed at each end of the tube (1) between the tube (1) and the pipe (8). A helical spring (7) which is closed to form a ring is used as the spring element, by means of which tolerances between the tube (1) and the pipe (8) can be compensated and heat transfer can be achieved via the helical faces.
