The present invention relates to a connecting structure for an insulating protective wall of a tank for a low- or high-temperature liquid such as a cargo hold of an LNG carrier and more particularly, to a connecting structure for an insulating protective wall, which can minimize the stress of a connection unit. The connecting structure for an insulating protective wall comprises surface plates which are connected with the surface of multiple insulating panels aligned at regular intervals; and a strip which is connected with a surface plate connected with the surface of two adjacent insulating panels in order to cover a gap between the multiple insulating panels. The surface plate has a different rigidity from the rigidity of the strip. The connecting structure for an insulating protective wall uses sheets which have appropriate structure rigidities for the surface plate connected with the insulating panel and for the strip covering the gap between the insulating panels respectively, thereby minimizing thermal deformation and thermal stress of a connection part between the surface plate and the strip and of an overlapping part of the strips.
