A low-hydrogen coated arc welding electrode which is obtained by coating a core wire with a coating agent, said core wire being formed of carbon steel. The coverage by the coating agent is set to 25-40% by mass with respect to the total mass of the welding electrode. The coating agent is configured to have a component composition that contains, with respect to the total mass of the coating agent, 20-60% by mass of calcium carbonate, 5-25% by mass of fluorite, and 5-25% by mass (in terms of SiO2) of at least one substance that is selected from the group consisting of liquid glass, silica minerals, Si metal and Si alloys, while regulating at least one substance that is selected from among MgO and MgCO3 to 0.1% by mass or less (in terms of MgO) and at least one substance that is selected from among Mg metal and Mg alloys to 0.5% by mass or less (in terms of Mg). In addition, the calcium carbonate is configured to contain particles having particle diameters of 10 mum or less in an amount of 40% by mass or more, and the fluorite is configured to contain particles having particle diameters of 100 mum or more in an amount of 40% by mass or more.
|
