PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a canned motor having a resin can which has a shorter separation between a motor stator and a motor rotor.SOLUTION: The canned motor configured to be coupled to a vacuum pump and used as a rotary drive source for the vacuum pump includes a stator core, a rotor arranged inside of the stator core, and a resin can arranged between the stator core and the rotor to isolate the stator core and the rotor. The can has a hollow barrel part extending along a central axis of rotation of the rotor. At least either of a radially outer surface and a radially inner surface of the barrel part is in a substantially horizontal position having an inclination of less than 0.5 degrees to the central axis of rotation within at least a part of an opposition region opposite to the stator core along the central axis of rotation.
