The invention relates to a method and a system for using compressed gas in a vehicle. It provides to generate mechanical energy by expanding stored compressed gas from flask (111) through a turbine- compressor (110) and distributing the mechanical energy to the engine (101), motor-generator (130), or a wheel (160). The vehicle may be a parallel hybrid (Figure 1) or a series hybrid with wheel motors (Figure 2).
