Modulation of abnormal protein in neurodegenerative disease by controlling ATP-binding cassette transporter

PURPOSE: A composition for preventing or treating neurodegenerative diseases or diseases caused by abnormality of an ABC(ATP-binding cassette) transporter is provided to establish novel disease developing mechanism and to effectively prevent or treat the diseases. CONSTITUTION: A method for screening a material which prevents or treats neurodegenerative diseases comprises: a step of contacting a candidate material to neuronal cells; and a step of measuring ABC transporter activation level and expression level in neurons which are contacted with a candidate material and are not contacted. A composition for preventing or treating neurodegenerative diseases contains the material as an active ingredient. A composition for preventing or treating diseases caused by ABC transporter abnormality contains the materials as an active ingredient. The material is microRNA27a(accession No NR_029501) which is an RNA of sequence number 1.
