PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding system and a welding method which easily satisfy both welding quality and welding speed in narrow gap welding.SOLUTION: A welding system according to an embodiment includes: a laser head which emits a laser beam having a processing point beam diameter larger than a gap width of a pair of welding objects butted against each other with a narrow gap; a welding torch which applies voltage to a welding wire to perform arc-welding; an interval adjustment mechanism which adjusts an interval between the laser head and the welding torch; and a movement part which moves, along the gap, the laser head and the welding torch with the interval adjusted, allows the inside of the gap to be melted by the laser beam emitted from the head, allows the melted inside of the gap to be arc-welded by the welding torch, and allows a weld bead to be formed. |
