Disclosed is a super high toughness and high strength drill rod having mass content percentages of: C: 0.24-0.30%, Si: 0.1-0.5%, Mn: 0.7-1.5%, Cr: 0.7-1.5%, Mo: 0.5-0.75%, V: 0.01-0.10%, Nb: 0.01-0.05%, P<=0.015%, S<=0.005%, and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities. The manufacturing process of the drill rod is that of: heating the whole drill rod body of the above-mentioned components to 900-950°C, then carrying out axial flow water spray cooling in the inner surface of the drill rod and laminar flow water spray cooling on the outer surface of the drill rod, at the same time controlling different water spray amounts at the thickened end of the tube and the tube body of the drill rod, and then tempering at 650-675°C, so as to obtain a super high toughness and high strength drill rod having a strength of 135 ksi and longitudinal full-size impact toughness >=100 J at -20°C. |
