The present invention relates to a karaoke system using a composite video. A karaoke system for providing the accompaniment of a song selected by a user according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a voice input unit for receiving the voice of the user; a voice output unit for outputting the accompaniment and the voice of the user; a motion recognition unit for recognizing the motion of the user to create a motion video; a video processing unit for creating a composite video in which special effects applied to the motion video in real time are synthesized, based on a predetermined video profile; and a video output unit for projecting the composite video onto a screen, wherein the special effects are changed in real time, based on at least one among the motion of the user, the accompaniment, or the voice of the user. Thus, when the user sings a song, a video in which special effects applied to the motion of the user in real time are synthesized is provided for the user, thereby enabling the user to be more interested in the singing.
