PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a master batch that is inhibited from discoloration with time and is excellent in antimicrobial performance.SOLUTION: The master batch is produced by heating and mixing an olefin resin, a fatty acid silver and a dispersant. The olefin resin has a chlorine content of 1 ppm or less. The dispersant has an acid dissociation constant (pKa) of 4.0 or less. The fatty acid silver is contained in an amount of 0.1-2 wt%. The weight ratio of the fatty acid silver to the dispersant is 1:0.5 to 1:10.
