PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotatable DC motor that has n magnetic poles, 2mn slots and mn segments.SOLUTION: A stator 11 has two circumferentially arranged magnets 13, 14. An armature 21 has: an armature core 23 having eight circumferentially arranged slots 32 and radially opposed to the magnets 13, 14; a commutator 25 having four segments 42 circumferentially divided by four circumferentially arranged grooves 43, and rotatable integrally with the armature core 23; and a plurality of windings 24 wound by distributed winding in the slots 32. Two brushes 61, 62 are in sliding contact with the segments 42. Two of the windings 24 which are spaced at an electrical angle of 180° are connected in series between two of the segments 42 which are electrically short-circuited by each brush 61, 62. The commutator 25 does not have any groove 43 in a position circumferentially at an electrical angle of 180° from each groove 43. |
