Articles slide one after the other over upper surface of a pedestal which has an inclined front wall on which the articles slide down. A piling-up and suspending bar is pivoted near the lower part of the pedestal and can move to and from from the front wall between contact with it near and below the upper surface, and position spaced from front wall. Sensor, or adjustable height, is fixed on the front wall to sense the arrival of the front edge of each article sliding down the front wall. Motors and drives are actuated by the sensor and act on the bar to move it from a position away from the pedestal to position where it is applied against the front wall.
