The present invention relates to an arm rest for a vehicle. The arm rest for a vehicle according to the present invention comprises a pair of first brackets fixed to the side frame of a seat back while separated from the side frame; a second bracket having the upper and lower surfaces connected to the first bracket; a combination hole formed on the vertical surface of the second bracket; a hinge rod inserted and fixed into the combination hole; and an arm rest combined with the hinge rod, folded to the side surface of the seat back or unfolded forward of the seat back around the hinge rod by an external force, and an arm rest capable of adjusting the width of a seat by rotating together with the second bracket as the seat back is unfolded forward. An elliptical tilt hole is formed on the upper and lower combination surface of combining the first bracket with the second bracket to limit the rotating range of the second bracket. The tilt hole has both ends of a tilt guide pin having a specific length inserted therein to guide the rotation of the second bracket, and includes a tension spring for preventing the vibration of the tilt guide pin. Therefore, the present invention can improve an uncomfortable small seat space by adjusting the width of the seat according to the body shape of a passenger because the arm rest can move horizontally as the arm rest is unfolded forward of the seat back. |
