<p>A cartridge (10) is provided having a tubular body (12) made from a plastics material which is filled with a gas producing material (36). The leading end (14) of the body (12) is open while the trailing end (18) is internally thickened (16). The cartridge (10) includes a cover (38) over the open leading end (14) of the body (12) which is dimensioned to provide a sliding fit within a borehole (42). A piston (22) is located within the body (12) and is movable relative to the internal thickening (16) so as to cause radially outward expansion of the body (12) after ignition of the gas producing material (36). The piston (22) is further configured to accommodate a cable or shock tube (26) for operating an igniter (28).</p> |
