The present invention relates to mono filaments for manufacturing toothbrush bristles in which grooves are formed to the inward direction at one or both ends of core-sheath filaments comprised of a core portion and a sheath portion covering the core portion. The present invention also relates to a manufacturing method of the filaments for manufacturing the toothbrush bristles which comprises the steps of: a) cutting a manufactured bundle of the core-sheath filaments comprised of the core portion and the sheath portion covering the core portion; and b) forming the grooves inwardly by immersing the one end portion into a machining tank containing an alkaline solution.
