PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard motor and a control device for the same that can adequately secure hydraulic pressure when changing gears without increasing a hydraulic pump capacity.SOLUTION: The outboard motor and a control device for the same comprise: first speed and second speed gears 74, 80, 76 and 82 supported by a power transmission shaft 60 and the like that transmit power from an internal combustion engine to a propeller; a dog clutch C1 that can engage the first speed gear in the power transmission shaft; a crutch C2 for the second speed that can engage the second speed gear in the power transmission shaft; a shift actuator 90 for the first speed that can joint the dog crutch to the first speed gear; a transmission 24 that when the first speed gear is engaged in the power transmission shaft, sets transmission gear range to the first speed and when with the first speed being set, the second speed gear is engaged in the power transmission shaft, sets the transmission gear range to the second speed; a first electromagnetic solenoid valve 106a that is inserted into an oil passage connecting a hydraulic pump to the shift actuator for the first speed; and a second electromagnetic solenoid valve 106b that is inserted into an oil passage connecting the hydraulic pump to the crutch for the second speed. |
