PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for charging raw materials which can reduce ventilation resistance of a packed bed in a bell-type blast furnace regardless of a radius of a throat of a used blast furnace.SOLUTION: When a radius of a throat of a bell-type blast furnace is denoted by R (m), the charge amount of raw materials is denoted by w (t), and charge time required for charging raw materials of the charge amount w is denoted by T (sec), a charging speed w/T of raw materials is controlled according to the radius R of a throat so that a segregation index, s=2&pgr;RT/w, is 10 or more. The bell-type blast furnace may be operated so that a coke ratio (the amount of coke used for producing 1 t of pig iron) is 350 Kg/pt or more. |
