The invention provides a method for producing a cell sheet including a retinal pigment epithelial cell layer and an angiogenic cell layer, the method including a step for laminating a retinal pigment epithelial cell layer and an angiogenic cell layer constructed of blood vessel component cells or stem cells having angiogenic potency; and provides a cell sheet obtained by this method. The invention also provides a cell sheet for transplantation including a cell layer formed by retinal pigment epithelial cells obtained by inducing in vitro differentiation of stem cells or progenitor cells, a basement membrane secreted from these cells, and an angiogenic cell layer constructed of blood vessel component cells or stem cells having angiogenic potency.
