PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass for a medicine container and a glass tube using the same, enabling sufficient chemical strengthening of the container after forming into final products such as an ampule, a vial, a pre-filled syringe and a cartridge.SOLUTION: A glass for chemical strengthening contains a composition containing, by mol%, SiO:50 to 80%, AlO:5 to 30%, LiO:0 to 2%, NaO:5 to 25%. A glass tube is formed by a Danner process and applied to a chemical strengthening treatment by an ion exchange treatment in a molten salt. A glass for a medicine container has a compressive stress value of a compressive stress layer formed at the ion exchange treatment in KNOmolten salt at 440°C of 300 MPa or more, and a thickness of the compressive stress layer of 10 μm or more, and a heat expansion coefficient in the temperature range of 30 to 380°C of 100×10/°C or less. |
