PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform temperature control of a fixing member in consideration of the subsequent fixing temperature after fixation when there are a plurality of fixing temperatures.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes: a fixing unit 6 that detects with a fixing thermistor 23 a temperature of a fixing roller 21 that is heated by a fixing heater 24 to heat paper P on which a toner image is transferred, so as to fix the toner image on the paper P; and a CPU 26 that controls power supplied to the fixing heater 24 on the basis of the detected temperature to control the temperature of the fixing roller 21, presumes that which of the following is a fixing temperature required for the subsequent fixation by the fixing roller 21 after completion of the current fixation by the fixing roller 21: a plurality of different fixing temperatures as fixing temperatures at the time of fixation by the fixing roller 21 and a plurality of different standby temperatures corresponding to the respective fixing temperatures, both of which are stored in a non-volatile memory, and sets and controls the standby temperature stored in the non-volatile memory corresponding to the presumed fixing temperature as a standby temperature before the start of the subsequent fixation. |
