The present invention relates to a method for displaying advertising content in response to a sleep mode of a smart device. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of: (a) installing an advertising content application to a smart device; (b) allowing the smart device to enter a sleep mode; (c) allowing the smart device to receive a notification message for smart device in the sleep mode state obtained in the (b) step; and (d) exposing, with the notification message for smart device, advertising content scheduled by the advertising content application in a notification message area or an area except the notification message area when the notification message for smart device is displayed on the screen of the smart device in the sleep mode state of the smart device.
