A metal element is bonded to a sulphurvulcanizable rubber by assembling the metal in contact with a cobalt-free composition comprising the rubber, sulphur in an amount of 3À5 to 7À0 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of rubber, and a delayed action accelerator of the sulphenamide type, and vulcanizing the assembly. The metal is preferably brassplated steel but steel and zinc are also specified.</p> |
