<p>A system and method uses a proxy device 22 to enable use of a standard data load protocol 18 to load data to a target device 26 that is incompatible with the standard data load protocol. The proxy device may be configured to receive, validate and translate the standard data load communication protocol into a proprietary/legacy data load protocol 24 compatible with the target device. A media repository 14 may be used to store data such as software updates to be loaded to the target device(s). The validity checking performed by the proxy device may include Cyclic Redundancy Checking (checksum, CRC) and/or integrity checking to check author, payload, source, spoofing etc. The protocol conversion may be bi-directional through the proxy device. The arrangement may provide support for a legacy/proprietary device to receive data from an ARINC 615A data loader.</p> |
