PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a sheet carrying device 200 for effectively eliminating the static of a sheet, when forming a sheet bundle. SOLUTION: An opening space 207 is arranged downstream of a branch passage 204 branching off from a carrying passage 202. A static eliminating means 208 is also arranged in the opening space 207. A sheet switched back by first buffer roller pairs 203 from the carrying passage 202, is received in the branch passage 204, and is suspended in the opening space 207 by second buffer roller pairs 206. The sheet suspended in the opening space is eliminated with its static by the static eliminating means 208.
