PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that applies a frothy fixing liquid which contains a softener for softening toner, to transfer paper bearing unfixed toner, thereby fixing the toner softened by the application of the frothy fixing liquid, to the transfer paper, the fixing device maintaining the fixing performance of the frothy fixing liquid over a lapse of time. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes a fixing liquid bottle 200 storing a fixing liquid 210 composed of a plurality of constituents including the softener, frother, and diluted solution. The fixing performance of the fixing liquid 210 decreases by a reaction between the contained softener and diluted solution over the lapse of time. The fixing device further includes an auxiliary liquid bottle 300 storing auxiliary liquid 310 for recovering the fixing performance degraded by the reaction independently of the fixing liquid bottle 200, the auxiliary liquid 310 being supplied to the fixing liquid 210, and an auxiliary liquid supply means which is disposed within a fixing liquid conveying pipe 201 being a conveyance passage for the fixing liquid 210 to a fixing liquid frothing device 500 from the fixing liquid bottle 200 and supplies the auxiliary liquid 310 to the fixing liquid 210.
