The present invention relates to an inductor and a manufacturing method thereof. The inductor includes: a coil pattern part; an insulation part; a first external electrode part; and a second external electrode part. The present invention provides the inductor capable of minimizing a mounting area by including the first and second external electrode parts on one among six sides of the inductor, reducing parasitic capacitance generated between the circuit pattern of a substrate and the coil pattern of the inductor, and improving manufacturing efficiency.
