A conductive element 5 which can serve as a connecting conductor to a capacitive sensing element 3 comprises a set of elongate conductive tracks and a set of conductive members crossing the tracks. The tracks and/or members may have a sheet resistance of no more than 50 Ωsq-1 and may comprise conductive ink, such as silver based ink. The tracks and/or members may have a width of at least 100 μm and may be spaced apart by at least 100 μm. The tracks may have a length of at least 100 mm. At least some of the members may link the set of tracks. The connecting conductor can be wider than the width of a finger to reduce unintentional capacitive coupling. The connecting conductors can be incorporated in printed articles such as books, posters, product packaging and greeting cards. |
