The steam turbine housing (1) has a stiffening tub (4) that is attached on the inner side of a housing wall (2). The two axially adjacent and radially, inwardly projecting inner ridges (7,8) are arranged on the circumferential housing wall. A center ridge (16) is mounted axially and parallelly to the center of housing wall on the inner side between two projecting inner ridges. A radially inner edge of the center ridge is straight with longitudinal ends meeting the housing wall, where the circumferential extension of the central ridge is defined.
