1,206,379. Coated Co-alloy powder. EUTECTIC WELDING ALLOYS CORP. Sept. 15, 1967 [Sept.22, 1966], No.12604/70. Divided out of 1, 205, 793. Headings C7A and C7F. A powder useful in welding and flame-spraying consists of Cu-coated particles of an alloy consisting, by weight, of:- Ni trace-40% Cr 15-35% W 3-20% C 0À05-3% B 0-3À5% Co balance, and in greater amount than any other constituent. Coating may be effected by immersing the alloy powder in copper sulphate solution. Phosphorus may be deposited on the Cu-coating e.g. by chemical or electrolytic treatment in a dry mixture with copper phosphate: oxidation of the Cu/P layers produces different colours. Further colouring may be achieved by alloying Au, Ag or Pt with the Cu-coating e.g. by chemical displacement in solution.
|
