The present invention provides a device for detecting the transmission spectrum of a light guiding plate and a method for detecting the transmission spectrum of a light guiding plate. The detection device comprises a mixture cavity unit for supplying a linear light source having a continuous spectrum to a light guiding plate to be detected; a light guiding plate arrangement unit arranged at one side of the mixture cavity unit, wherein the light guiding plate to be detected is arranged on the light guiding plate arrangement unit to receive light from the mixture cavity unit; and a detection lens arranged on the light guiding plate arrangement unit to detect a spectrum.
