A motor controlling apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises a rotation position estimating unit, a variation amount estimating unit and an induction coefficient estimating unit. The rotation position estimating unit is to estimate the rotational position of the rotor from the motor parameters including a q-axis induction coefficient of the motor based on the output current to the motor and the voltage command. The variation amount estimating unit is to estimate the amount of change in current phase change of the output torque of the motor corresponding to the high-frequency signal having a frequency higher than the driving frequency of the motor. The induction coefficient estimation unit is to estimate an induction coefficient value obtained for a maximum torque at a q-axis induction coefficient based on the variation amount.
