PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery mounting structure which makes it easy to mount a battery and can prevent theft. SOLUTION: The battery mounting structure 1 has a frame 7, and a battery storage space 25 is formed inside a motorcycle 2 at the frame 7. A battery doorway 32, which opens upward, is formed above the battery storage space 25 by being surrounded by the frame 7. It is structured so that the battery 21 can be put into and removed from the battery storage space 25 through the battery doorway 32. The battery doorway 32 is formed in such a way that the battery 21 can be stored or removed when the battery 21 is mounted transversely and cannot be done so when the longitudinal direction of the battery 21 is in the vertical direction of the motorcycle. Furthermore, the battery storage space 25 is structured so as to make the battery rotatable between the transverse and vertical directions and to store the battery 21 in the vertical direction.
