A metal component, in particular for use in domestic appliances, wherein the metal component has at least in certain portions on a metal main body a multilayered sintered coating, which comprises a silicon-based inorganic-organic hybrid polymer that is formed such that the coating has at least a) a cured outer layer and b) an intermediate layer, for promoting the coupling between the cured outer layer and the metal surface, wherein at least 20% of the depth profile of the intermediate layer has a mass concentration of a first transition metal of over 10%, wherein the first transition metal is not the main constituent of the metal main body.
