<p>A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network detects change in an associated bearer configuration for a multicast user service delivered via at least one bearer and transmits a message to a base station identifying the multicast user service generated in accordance with the associated bearer configuration. The base station may calculate the number of UEs receiving a multicast user service over a unicast bearer and if this exceeds a threshold, it may adjust the bearer configuration of at least one UE. By ensuring that a base station (such as an eNodeB) is informed about unicast radio bearers used to deliver a given multicast user service (such as a group call service), the base station functionality concerning delivery of the given multicast user service to one or more user equipment, UE, is modified. Based on information identifying the multicast user service associated with any particular unicast bearer, admission control is adapted for the multicast user service and service continuity in handover and bearer change events is improved.</p> |
