An automatic transposing device and an automatic transposing method according to a type of transposing instrument and performance ability are provided. The device according to the present invention comprises: an original score input module for receiving an original score file; a user input module for receiving a transposing instrument and performance ability of a user from a user; an automatic transposing module for generating a transposed score by automatically transposing the original score file received according to the received transposing instrument and performance ability; a transposed score display module for displaying the generated transposed score; and a transposed score accompaniment module for outputting an accompaniment according to the generated transposed score through a speaker. According to the automatic transposing device and method according to a type of transposing instrument and performance ability as described above, an optimal score for practicing a transposing instrument can be provided by comprising the device automatically transpose a score to the most suitable score according to if performance ability of user and a type of transposing instrument of the user is soprano or alto and et cetera. Therefore, each user can practice a transposing instrument using the most suitable score for oneself.
