An input control method of an image play apparatus using a remote controller for controlling input a character and using a remote controller are provided to move a service or a page by using a simple mapping method through a number key in the remote controller and input various characters conveniently. The input signal of the received number key is mapped to page selection signal or character input signal depending on whether the display mode of an image play apparatus is a page selection mode or a character input mode(220). In case the display mode is the page selection mode, the input signal of the received number key is classified according to the index region of the object within the index region of page and the page(230). |
