A diffuser is mounted on a water inlet pipe 13 which projects into the inlet header 10 of a feed water heater. The diffuser comprises concentric tubes 17, 18 respectively having perforations 19, 20 therein for the passage of the feed water into the header. A baffle chamber 24 is formed near the inlet end of the diffuser and serves to divert a proportion of the inflowing water to those of the tubes 12 nearest the inlet pipe 13. The diffuses includes a projecting tubular inlet neck 15 by which it is screwed or otherwise secured to the header inlet pipe 13.</p> |
