The present invention relates to a novel compound, a production method thereof, and a composition for extracting a benzoic acid derivative and a salicylic acid derivative using the same. The novel compound of the present invention is formed of pyrene and imidazole, wherein an imidazole part hydrogen bonds with an extracting object compound and a pyrene partπ-πinteracts with a benzene ring of the extracting object compound for changing the fluorescence intensity of the compound and selectively sensing aromatic carboxylic acid.
