The invention relates to the field of electric-discharge engineering, namely to methods of forming electrical discharges in liquid. In a method for forming electrical discharges in liquid between opposing electrodes located in liquid the volume of liquid is limited, in which a discharge channel is formed, of the total liquid volume and voltage is applied to the electrodes. According to the invention, for limiting the volume of liquid between the electrodes an electrically insulating elastic sheath is located that is secured on the positive electrode so that the entire lateral surface of the working part of the positive electrode is covered with the sheath and the electrically insulating elastic sheath is made of electrically insulating material, whose acoustic impedance is selected from the relation= ( 0.5-2), where Z- acoustical impedance of liquid; Z- acoustic impedance of material, which is used for manufacture of the elastic electrically insulating sheath. Application of the method of forming electrical discharges in liquid will increase the stability of formation of the electrical discharges and efficiency of the process. In addition, use of the invention allows to expand the technological capabilities of the method. |
