The invention relates to methods for investigation of operational characteristics of materials, in particular for the determination of water resistance of materials and articles and can be used in building industry and material science for control of quality of materials. The method for the determination of water resistance consists in that evaluation of change of the characteristics of strength of the sample after effect of water on those. According to the invention, additionally in the samples rate of capillary soaking is determined, time of complete saturation with liquid and amount of absorbed fluid, with comparison of those parameters. By the results of comparison the conclusion is made on presence or absence of structure destruction in the test sample, and at absence of the last one and at value of softening factor not less than 0.8 the conclusion is made that material is water resistant. The method provides increase of reliability and objectiveness of the results of water resistance determination and possibility of prediction of change or keeping those characteristics in time. |
