PURPOSE: A method for setting an efficient threshold value can set a threshold value of an energy detector for a signal having self-correlation in the recognition communications environment. CONSTITUTION: An asymptotic log-generating function for a frequency allocated to a priority user is calculated. A threshold value is set up by using the asymptotic log-generating function. An asymptotic log-generating function of a null hypothesis which hypothesizes that a receiver of a next-priority user receives only noise and an asymptotic log-generating function of an alternative hypothesis which hypothesizes the receiver of the next-priority user receives a signal and noise are calculated.
