A terminal for interworking of heterogeneous networks and an interworking method using the same are disclosed. Provided is a communication terminal comprising: a first network communication unit which blocks a connection to a second network based on a blocking request signal if the blocking request signal on a second network is inputted, and performs a voice communication or a low speed data communication while being connected to a first network; a signal measurement unit which measures a first signal strength of the first network and a second signal strength of the second network to generate a measurement signal if receiving a connection request signal to the second network while being connected to the first network; a signal determination unit which determines whether a connection to the second network is available or not by comparing the measurement signal with a predetermined reference value; and a second network communication unit which is connected to the second network and performs a high speed data communication if the signal determination unit determines that the connection to the second network is available. |
