A variable preload system of bearings using a gap of stroke and elastic deformation of a sealing member for preload adjustment according to the present invention is provided with a housing, bearings installed in the housing, a spindle rotated by coupling with inner races of the bearings, and a variable preload unit installed in the housing to apply variable preloads to outer races of the bearings, wherein the variable preload unit has a chamber formed to maintain air tightness by a sealing member between a pressing member in contact with the outer race of the bearing and the bearing housing unit and a pressure supply unit to vary preloads applied to the outer race of the bearing by supplying air pressure or hydraulic pressure to the chamber through a supply conduit formed in the housing.
