PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of a fluid pressure in backing up a failed pump by another pump, and to prevent an excess operation of the pump, in operating a plurality of pumps connected in parallel according to a prescribed starting order.SOLUTION: In an operation control method of pumps for starting the pumps according to a first starting condition to start a pump of a first starting order when a pressure of a fluid supplied to user equipment becomes a prescribed pressure set value or less, and a second starting condition for successively starting the pumps of second and succeeding starting orders when a total discharge flow rate of the plurality of pumps becomes a prescribed flow rate set value or more in a normal motion of the pumps, and starting other pump of which the starting order is moved forward to perform a backup operation when the pump in operation is failed, the first starting condition is not applied to the other pump of which the starting order is moved up to the first one due to the failure of the pump in operation, but the other pump is started immediately after the failure of the pump in operation. |
