PURPOSE: A scheduling apparatus in a communication system and a method thereof are provided to increase sum capacity by selecting a transmission mode according to a system state during scheduling. CONSTITUTION: A scheduling apparatus in a communication system and a method thereof comprise the following steps. One of the first transmission mode which performs direction communication with a mobile station and the second transmission mode which performs communication with the mobile station through a relay station is selected(305). Instantaneous SNR values of links related to the selected transmission mode are requested to mobile stations(307,315). The instantaneous SNR values are received from the mobile stations(309,317). A mobile station having the highest instantaneous SNR value is selected(311). |
